Pastor Josh at COC is doing a great job of teaching about God and money. This week we studied Matthew 6:19-21. We also studied about tithing. Pastor Josh raised the question, why did God ask for a tenth? Why not 3%? 6.78%? 4.2%? His belief is that because asking for 10% is enough to make it "hurt" a little bit. Anything less, might not actually be a sacrifice. Anything more? Well, we already have a hard time giving 10% willingly.
He ended wanting us to consider this that every two weeks God says "Just give me 10%." - where ye treasure is, there also be ye heart."
