Make this Christmas season Holy

A friend of mine Mary Harry blogged about what her bible study did in order to bring the season of giving into their Christmas this year. You can read what they did as a group at http://harryhappenings.blogspot.com/

I thought it was a great idea. So I immediately wrote my Bible study leader and suggested that we do something similiar for next Christmas, since this Christmas it was too late. She thought it was a fantastic idea. This is what her family decided to do this Christmas...

"I think many people are thinking this same way this year. Our family in lieu of gifts for each other, we each got $100 to give away. We are to find someone in need, secretly, we are not allowed to talk to each other about it, and give it away. On christmas morning, instead of opening gifts we will reveal our "Kingdom Assignment" as we call it. It has been fun to do, and can't wait to see how the rest of my family has done. We too feel very, very blessed by the Lord, and if we never got another thing in this life, we still have more than enough.....It is a grace of God to allow us to look outside of ourselves a bit, and I am thankful He has done some work in my heart.....Waiting for baby....Suzanne"

These are such incredible ways to bring Jesus into Christmas. Its not about us...its all about HIM!

Merry Christmas

Instead of buying all my nieces and nephews gifts We bought gifts for kids from World Vision in their honor...
Not sure how the kids will appreciate that but hope they will appreciate that : )
All of us have so much... why do we need Christmas to symbolize over endulgence? : )
