Grace Gets A Cast!

Last Thursday: Grace fell from the monkey bars at school. She went to the nurses office and they gave her a cold compress.

Last Friday: Grace woke up still complaining about pain in her wrist. Mom takes her to the doctor. Doctor x-rays the wrist and sees a fracture. We have to wait five days before we go to the orthapedic doctor. She has been wearing a splint on her right hand (it would have to be her right writing hand)!

Today: We went to the orthapedic doctor and it was determined that she did, in fact, fracture her wrist in two places. She said it was like crushing a can. Grace has to wear the cast for four weeks- Sorry, no more P.E.

I asked Alex to get off of work because I thought it was going to be a long and painful proceedure.

Grace chose a hot pink cast. Casting is NOT like it was in the old days. They wrapped it in water resistant gauze, wet the casting material and rolled it out like a piece of gauze. The whole proceedure took about ten minutes.
I think McDonald's Ice cream is in order :")
